Hansen, P.C., a Joliet, Illinois law firm specializing in corporate, business, real estate, development and estate planning law. Mr. Hansen is a 1973 graduate with honors of the University of Notre Dame and in 1975 graduated from Drake University Law School. From 1976 to 1994, Mr. Hansen was in private legal practice as a partner with the Joliet law firm of Herschbach, Tracy, Johnson, Bertani & Wilson. He was involved from the beginning with the founding of the Empress Casino and from August 1, 1994 until December 1, 1999, served as Vice President, Secretary and Chief Legal Officer for Empress Entertainment, Inc., Empress Casino Joliet Corporation and Empress Casino Hammond. Mr. Hansen was also responsible for the development and construction of Empress Casino Hammond Corporation in 1995 and 1996.
Mr. Hansen has served as the Chairman of the Institute of Illinois Business Law, was one of the founding directors of First Community Financial Partners, Inc. and First Community Bank of Joliet and serves on the boards of the Will County Center for Economic Development, Lewis University Board of Advisors, the University of St. Francis President’s Board of Advisors and the Board of Advisors for Autobahn Country Club. He is a former Chairman or President of the Will County Center for Economic Development, the Joliet Catholic Academy Board of Directors, the Franciscan Learning Center, Crisis Line of Will County, the Notre Dame Club of Joliet, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Silver Cross Foundation and is a former board member of the Will County Chapter of Red Cross and Diocese of Joliet Finance Council and a past Troy Township Republican Precinct Committeeman. Mr. Hansen is a rating panelist for Golf Digest Magazine and is the Secretary for the Class of 1973 of the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Hansen is a member of the Illinois, Chicago and Will County Bar Associations. Mr. Hansen resides in Joliet with his wife Elizabeth. They are the parents of four children, Eric (32), Andrew (29) (Rachel) and Mary Catherine (23). Their oldest son Kevin passed away on April 11, 2015. Mr. Hansen also has a grandson, Anthony John Hansen.
